I had identity theft due to a local bank allowing an out of state convicted felon to open a joint checking account with me (of which I had no idea about) After the account was opened, the bank somehow allowed the felon to transfer money from a joint personal account which I already had , into the account the felon opened The money was then withdrawn I had no knowledge of these transactions until the Bank started making their collection calls demanding I pay the money back. The Bank finally supposedly straightened everything out until about 2 weeks later then they let the same felon withdraw again Then the collection calls started again This caused me a lot of time off work, a lot of aggravation proving I didn't do this and a lot of harassment to me and my wife demanding we pay back the money.
