She returned every call in a timely manner, even took time out of her day to call me on my birthday (after meeting me once) and wishing me a Happy Birthday. I would recommend her to represent anyone.
Fast forward To today, 01/08/2019. I sent Verity a text message reminding her that both my mother and I have placed numerous phone calls, text messages and emails - all of which were ghosted. I also informed Verity that I was going to make a complaint with the Louisiana Bar Association in reference to this incident because this entire time I have been putting Law Enforcement on the back burner waiting on Verity. Her lack of professionalism has put a serious damper on my ability to get ahead of this potential case. Only after I informed Verity of my intent to make a complaint with the bar association did she respond to me - AFTER ALMOST 2 WEEKS of being ghosted and after multiple verbal and text message promises to represent me, did she even bother to respond. She sent me a heartless and gutless response saying that due to “personal” reasons, she would be unable to represent me. I thanked her for waiting 2 weeks to respond to me. Her inaction and childish behavior of “ghosting” me could have serious repercussions in my ability to form a good defense. All she had to do two weeks ago is what she did tonight - send me a simple, heartless and gutless text message. She didn’t even have the ability to pick up the phone and call me to tell me any of this. I’m glad I found out this way rather than much later in this potential case. Do you really want an attorney who says one thing and does another, potentially harming your record and liberty? If she doesn’t even have the nerve to call you, a paying client back, would you trust her to call law enforcement officials and prosecutors back on your behalf when your liberty is at stake? No, you shouldn’t. Do yourself a favor and hire someone who is more mature and knows how to use a phone.
