Once they get the accounts in collections they drag them out and rack up even more fees.
Legal is inevitable when running an HOA but knowing your rights as a board is critical. If you want quick resolution to delinquent accounts make the collection process as short as possible with the management company and make sure the lawyers hired for the HOA on behalf of the management company have solid guidelines to follow. Be realistic with payments and dont be afraid to foreclose on homes if required.
Manning and Meyers take advantage people's misunderstanding of what an HOA can do up to foreclosure and they cash in on prolonged collections. Also, if you think they have the HOA's best interest in mind you're in for a rude awakening. Their number one priority is to keep the management company happy, the management company is their cash cow in partnership, thats where they get all the work, the HOA is just a formality they have to fool in order to get paid.
