If you've gone through what I have in the recent past, you'll appreciate this review.
I applied for O1-visa last spring using services of a larger immigration law firm. Despite the fact they had all the materials they needed to prove the merits, their submission resulted in a huge RFE that was nearly impossible to dig out of. Bottom line, they did a very poor job flashing out the important accomplishments that one needs to prove to get this kind of visa. My visa application was denied and I had to leave the country after 6 years! Mind you, this is a huge change and challenge for a professional that has a very US-centric focus.
I decided to consult with a few more firms since I've been told independently that my evidence and experience looks strong and definitely worth reapplying.
So I decided to give it a shot. First, I consulted with one of the largest immigration law firms based out of DC (you know, the kind of shop that has 40+ offices around the world and claims they can solve any immigration problem you may have). I spoke with their senior attorney who flat out said that he wasn't convinced that I was an O1 caliber and the visa application had been denied previously so it's a clear NO for them. Actually, in our discussion he failed to address specific questions that I had because HE DIDN'T READ THE CASE = he didn't care at all. So it was a clear NO for me, too. They were not ready to accept this challenge. You have to appreciate it - it's a tough job and some are just not fit to do it - no matter how experienced, successful and tough they claim they are.
Very early on I realized that this firm couldn't hold a candle to Chavez and Valko.
I approached the firm with the very same request. Their attorneys and paralegals analyzed the case properly and addressed specific points and gave ideas on how to make it right - ultimately, they said it was worth trying again. We put together a plan and worked towards turning the odds in my favor. The process was a bit longer due to some issues with the logistics and workload this type of visa requires. However, in a couple of months we've put together a very strong application that duly reflected the accomplishment and experience that I have in my field of expertise. After a few reviews, we submitted a polished packaged that everyone from the senior attorneys to paralegals put tremendous effort in. And guess what? We got a YES in less than a week!!

A quick recap and moral of the story: don't believe in and waste your time with big law firms that take a cookie-cutter approach to everything and have often very junior and uncaring legal/paralegal staff. Trust your gut and go with people that care about your story and your future. You might as well get your way.

Chavez and Valko care about your objective and want you to succeed. Be patient and work with them, push them a little if you need to - they will deliver. I am back in the US as I am writing this and couldn't be more thankful to the entire staff that pulled this off.
To me they've become the go-to people when looking for someone to solve my immigration challenges. They deserve your attention as well.

i decided to hired Chavez and Valko to represent me in my immigration process best choice we ever made. My attorney was Mr. Valko when we consult with him he sounded confident and knew what he was talking about. Right away we got him and our paralegal was Cielo she is so awesome any question i had she answer. My process took about 3 years but this Christmas i became a permanent resident thanks to them and their team. So worth every penny. Definitely recommend to anyone seeking immigration help.

Don't believe the high rate on google review on this company. I do not kow how they get so many reviews. I would recommend to stay away from this law firm if you want to secure a h1b visa. I had an unpleasant experience with them and ended up with a h1b denial. Here I am going to share more details about my experience: (1)At the beginning, it seems like all they care is to have you sign the contract, take the attorney fees and not happy to take prospective clients' questions. (2) they even get my company's address wrong in my h1b petition, the very basic information. I am not an expert on law but this tells something about the overall quality of my h1b petition. (3) the worst part comes when i get a RFE on my application, which means the original application is not good enough and the government needs more information. Of course, they charge additional fees for responding to RFE. It gives them incentive to not do a good job in order to charge client the second time. (4) They postponed my RFE response on purpose for betting on the government will restore premium process soon, which is a paid service to expedite my application process. It is suppose to be 1-2 weeks work but it takes them 6 weeks to do it! It is just pure unacceptable! The nightmare is they lost the bet! The premium process did not restore and there is a 6-week delay in my process, which results in my unemployment later. The point is they should never make a bet with the well-being of a client. It is a riskless bet for them but it is very bad for clients. You don't want a lawyer that does not care about clients! (5) Even after they learn premium process will not restore, the senior attorney's review is still extremely slow and they refuse to provide their RFE response to me. I should have known it is a bad sign. They are hiding their work from me, which probably means they just copy&paste my original application. Basically done nothing. (6) because of the delay they created, i was forced to stop working after Oct 1st. If they could have been quick on my application, this will not happen. After 2.5 month painful waiting, i was notified that my h1b application is denied and they suggest to appeal (slow response). Of course, they charges fees for appealing. they get paid for doing a bad job. I choose not to trust them again. if all I said above makes sense to you, please stay away from this law firm and find yourself a reliable attorney!

We worked with the Fort Worth office of Chavez & Valko, LLP for our immigration issue. My journey from 2013 was complicated by a small clerical error (wrong form) and it results in a two year administrative nightmare. We had navigated the process without an attorney, until we ran into the problem.

This team CARES about their clients. The Paralegal Ariel White was beyond professional, encouraging and she answered all our questions and provided us with updates. The Attorneys (we had more than one on our case) were thorough and helped ease our anxiety. A straightforward immigration by Spousal petition from Canada to Texas turned into something quite scary for us, and they made us feel safe, and cared for.

If I have some advice to share, it is not to try to navigate a spousal immigration alone without the services of legal professionals. I had a very Great experience with the Law Firm. We applied for my permanent residency (Green Card) and it went so smooth. From the beginning, we were well oriented and guided. Through the process, we had questions and all were answered in a timely manner. Our Paralegal Erika was extremely professional, always made herself available when needed and very understanding. We highly recommend Chavez & Valko for any immigration matter.

Great experience out of the Dallas office. Lawyers are pricey in general so we opted for a transparent and simplified payment plan. Lawyer assigned to us was Ann Miller. She did the research (specific to our situation), was honest and prepared for the immigration process we needed help with. Worked with clerk/paralegal Felix and he was helpful too. Only tip is don't be afraid to call if you have any questions or feel like you should have heard back from them for something. Once you do, they are pretty quick to help.

Their TEAM in the Fort Worth office are AWESOME! They respond to emails within hours if not minutes!

OMG where do I start. I want to start off first by saying that choosing an attorney for anything is not easy. When I was looking for immigration attorney I struggled for 2 years. Chavez & Valko was the first place I came to. I left thinking it might be too expensive due to the high professionalism atmosphere (eventhough I had no idea about the price - which they ended up being very reasonable and fair). I sought out other immigration attorneys which turned out to be NIGHTMARES. My heart lead me back to Chavez & Valko where it was in the first place. So if you are reading this review go with your heart. I met with attorney Valko who made us feel like the most important people in the world. I left not feeling judged and very welcomed and safe. Soon after hiring attorney Valko I met my paralegal Cielo. Who has more patience than the law allows, I would have NEVER EVER been able to complete this process without her. My life has not been easy so my trust issues are very low. But I trusted her with my life. Because no matter how difficult I was, she treated me with the utmost respect. She kept her word on EVERYTHING, which is PRICELESS in this situation. Had it not been for her I wouldn't even been writing this review!!! I gave 4 stars because my billing experience was not 5 star i. I didn't appreciate them calling me last year 2018 asking me about payment for November which I had paid and i had to look through my e-mail for the receipt as proof that i had paid. I wasn't expecting that. Fast forward 2019 there is another billing misunderstanding from last year, they have apologized but we are still resolving it.
