My name is Crystal Romero, Laura Was my attorney for my family custody case, when i first talked to her she was extremely nice to me and CARED SO MUCH about my case. I am thrilled with my outcome after working with Laura. I consulted her many times over the years amidst struggles with my ex-husband. Laura is the absolute best family law attorney you can hire. I was desperate and beat up by my ex and had false claims against me to take my kids away. I was distraught and hopeless. I hired another lawyer before switching to Laura and was not represented well by my previous lawyer. The time I could not see my boys because of lies of my ex to try ro get sole custody was horrific. I was a mess and I was demanding of Laura and I was pushy and a pest. Through out the whole 3 months it took to go to court to defeat my ex I was miserable not seeing my kids. Needless to say Laura hit it out of the park in court. She was so well prepared and absolutely killed it in court.

I knew from the second she began speaking in court I was going to win. I had my kids back that night and we won big time. I can not thank Laura enought, she is truly the best lawyer in the Valley in my opinion. I don't see how some people on here can give her a negative review. She knows family law so well and cares about her clients and she was so well prepared and well spoken, truly amazing!

Laura is an awesome attorney! She went above and beyond to ensure I was treated fairly and that I understood the legal ramifications of a very important document I would be signing. In addition, she was kind, laid back and more than willing to answer my questions.

Laura is NOT aggressive, she has absolutely no fight in her at all. She does everything opposing counsel says, agrees with everything opposing counsel says. Hiring her is like having two attornies against you!!!

Because of Laura I was over charged $35,000 in childcare ie she took opposing counsels numbers and did not ask for a single piece of proof to show her numbers were accurate even after asking her to do so at least 3 times. She let me be bullied, manipulated, and robbed. Laura Gillis was my biggest enemy through the entire process not my ex or my ex’s attorney, she literally let my life be ruined beyond repair. She is a disgrace to law and all the people that ask for her help. She is a NIGHTMARE!!!!!! I highly recommend not even considering hiring her as an attorney. She gets OWNED in any exchange wether it’s by email, phone, or in person by opposing counsel!!! She has no rebuttals, no answers, no clever defense tactics, no clue how to gain leverage, she is a complete disaster. The other attorney took her to CHURCH!!! I was constantly embarrassed to have her as my attorney, she literally did nothing for my case and did not do her job at all. No work ethic, no ethics period!!! She wouldn’t respond to my emails, calls to her office, calls to her cell, texts for weeks, sometimes months at a time. Use extreme caution with this firm.

Laura Gillis doesn't even deserve a star. She was very unprofessional and totally unorganized and her billing was disastrous. At the beginning she told me she was going to give me a special rate to help me with my divorce because I am a Vietnam Veteran.
I wish I would had never hired her.
After six months waiting for the process, she never had anything ready, a day before my Divorce, I tried getting hold of her, but it was unsuccessful. It was close to 7 PM when her husband called me saying Laura needed documents from me for the next day's court. During court, she was totally unprepared,the other party was bombarding me with untruthful accusations, I was asked questions by the Judge and Laura never let me talk, she kept telling me to "shush" and she never defended my case. Honest to God, she was defending the other party, at the time of the hearing, she was actually talking to the defendant's friend, which I thought was a conflict of interest.
Additionally, her billing is a total mess and always to her advantage. I had to reach her making so many calls and by emails trying to prepare for be ready for my Divorce. She would hardly ever get back to me, yet in the billing statement, she charged for all those calls and emails, yet she never answered my questions. In her billing statement, she also charged me for lots of drafts, copies and double charged me for two divorce court appearances when it was ONLY one. The copies she was charging should had only been for two documents from the other party, well I received tons of duplicates, which she charged me for as well.
In other words, after seven months, I was not even close to finalizing my divorce. Laura also charged me for work that apparently her husband and a paralegal had done for my case. At the end she never gave me the money for the court appearance that she double charged me, or everything else, contrarily, she just fixed the billing statement to make it seem she didn't owe me.
After I dismissed from my case, a friend help me and within a month, I was divorced without the necessity of spending additional money that she had asked me for in order to continue with my Divorce and told me it would take another 2 months before we would go to court again.
Don't waste your money with her. Dealing with Laura will worsen you stress!

She doesn't even deserve one star. My ex was served 3 business days before the court date. I found out that she never contacted him to sign the documents that I needed signed regarding parenting time. When I complained to her several times about her lack of service there was no response. AND SHE WAS A NO-SHOW IN COURT. She sent a college that was not briefed, no nothing, as we stood before the judge. This is the stuff that nightmares are made of. Seriously

Dedicated, experienced, professional, there-when-you-need-her! A good listener and a fighter. Highly recommended!

Laura Gillis was a God-send to my family, especially to my daughter and grand daughter. Laura presented the facts during trial in such a way that the judge immediately recognized the dangerous situation they were in if the situation had not been changed.
