Anastacio is an amazing lawyer. A few years back my mom was being tried for Food Stamp fraud. We had hired Hilda H. Zamora for the case, but we later realized what a mistake that was. My mom went to her for help because she is only a permanent resident, here in the United States; she was afraid of what would happen to her immigration status. Zamora had assured us multiple times that everything would be okay that she was both a criminal and immigration lawyer when we first met her. After she "helped" us and the case was over she told my mom that when she needed to renew her green card to go to her and she would help. It was about 6 months before my mom had to renew when she went to Zamora and asked for her help; that is when her secretary told my mom that Zamora was no longer an immigration lawyer and didn't have my mom in her system anymore. We thought that was crazy since it hadn't been too long since she represented my mom. We decided to go to the offices of Gary Finn where we learned that Zamora had not helped us at all. My mom was facing the possibility of deportation and we were all really scared. That is when Anastacio de la Cruz was recommended to us. At first we were skeptical because we had already been taken advantage one time and didn't want it to happen again. That was not the case here. Anastacio was very patient with my mom and always assured her that he would try his best. When I first met him, he gave me and my brother very good vibes, and I was not disappointed. Anastacio told us that the way to reverse the damage that Zamora had done was to take it to court and try to prove to the judge that she had lied to my mom multiple times and did not listen to her wishes and priorities. The battle against Zamora was long and very stressful but with the help and guidance from Anastacio, we persevered. In January 2018, the judge ruled in favor of mom stating that Zamora had in fact not done her job. I will always be thankful to Anastacio for doing something that many lawyers chose not to do which is accuse a fellow colleague of wrongdoings. Thanks to Anastacio my mom is getting another court hearing for her Food Stamp fraud case to set everything straight. We wanted Anastacio to represent my mom again since he did an amazing job but the courthouse in Indio in the county of Riverside is making it hard on him. They are upset with him because he went against a colleague and sent in a lot of evidence against her to the State Bar of California. He told my mom during their most recent meeting that all the district attorneys in the Indio courthouse are upset at him and might not want to help him. Which is why he advised my mom to look for a different lawyer so my mom would have a fair shot at a fair trial. Being selfless is a good quality in a lawyer, he was willing to lose out on making some money for the benefit of my mom. There are no words to explain how I feel about Anastacio thank you so much for everything you have done.
