Michael agreed to represent my disability case on its third callback. All the while previously i was asked to work at his office on his computers in exchange for the retainer of his services. When my day in court came he sent someone in his place. Not a lawyer. This stand in interrupted court right at the beginning and demanded that i be granted my disability on the spot. This hail mary move failed as the judge explained to my representation just exactly how court proceedings actually work. We give our side, they give there’s. As my “lawyer” is sitting down he whispers to me. This is my first time ever in a court room and i have not read one word of your file. Because i retained Eicksteadt for quite a long time he drew out the whole procedure with continuance after continuance i was very near to the 5 years you are allotted to make your disability claim. Because of this incompetence i was too late to get my social security disability. Binder & Binder came to my rescue and did an incredibly professional job. After my case was settled they offered me legal action against Eicksteadt on there dollar. This offer is still good as i keep in touch my assigned lawyer from Binder&Binder and he has advised me many times on many issues not even having anything to do with Social Security! Why? Because this man actually cared about me as a client. If there is a statute of limitation on the time i have to seek legal damages against this Lawyer then i may be past it. Me choosing to go with Desert Legal Aid has been one of the biggest mistakes of my life. It will directly affect me til im no longer alive. Let my factual account of how they do business be help to you. Dont make the same mistake i made. Regret is one helluva an awful taste.

Never returns phone calls! They did not help at all the two times I saw them. Referred me to an attorney who would charge $1200 to write a letter. Everyone should know that not all senior citizens have money to afford and attorney!! A non-profit organization who only wants to help when they are paid money. There is no free legal assistance for senior citizens in the desert!

Desert Legal Aid is a very friendly, compassionate, efficient, and affordable legal aid service. I highly recommend!
