My partner and I found David E. Jacobs online. During our first telephone conversation, I knew I had found our attorney. We needed an attorney that could advise us on several important items and understand the big picture of our issue. We had our first face to face meeting with Mr. Jacobs and hired him at that time, via retainer. Mr. Jacobs went the extra mile for us and resolved our legal issues. There are not enough good words I can say about how he successfully represented us.

I am responding to the negative review which was posted by Jenna McGuire. Often people will call an attorney's office saying "I need you to write a letter for me" or make some other such request, presuming they know what is needed in their case. Sometimes they might be right, sometimes they are digging themselves into a deeper hole, but as an attorney I adhere to the highest standard of ethics which require me to fully assess a matter and fully advise the client(s) concerning his/her or their legal matter(s). There have been many times when I will assist a client "ala carte" or pro bono, but in either case I am usually doing so to provide services free to those in need, as is the responsibility of all practicing attorneys.
I have never before been cognizant of negative reviews being posted about me until I was called today by an organization who will monitor such things, at a cost. I asked the sales person if he had seen the South Park episode where Cartman was shaking down restaurant owners, threatening bad Yelp reviews. Funny, but true and sad.
I very much appreciate the love and prayers Ms. McGuire is sending my way and hope that she has found solace in her grief.

Refused to conduct retainer on trust administration for my fathers estate unless on his terms. I asked to for only specific limited services (a couple of letters) and to let us handle the rest and he said he would not "a la cart his services." Even when I offered to pay for the hourly rate to complete this he refused. He was completely rude and insensitive to my fathers passing in his conduct (would not let me speak over the phone and kept saying "hold on" to interrupt me and offer the services he would "need to provide" (most of which I had already taken care of)) when we retain him for $350 an hour. For a lawyer in a private practice, I have less expensive options locally to me with equally experienced lawyers in larger firms. He struck me as insensitive, self-motivated, unapologetic, demeaning and chauvinistic. I can completely understand a lawyer refusing specific work, but for someone who knew my father for nearly 30 years and prepared his estate documents I would expect a little more decorum.
I am absolutely seeking legal counsel elsewhere as he was unwilling to listen to my concerns or requests. I wish David Jacobs no ill will and only hope his own demeanor will reflect to himself the person he is. My father was a very confident individual and would not wish his daughters to be taken advantage of as he would not allow himself to be taken advantage of. Only God can judge and I send all my love and prayers to Mr. Jacobs.
