I emailed Ms. Colburn to ask time frame and general steps in the process of retirement division. The next day I was cc'd on an email to my ex husband and both of our attorney's outlining her fees.
I do want to note at this point that we are legally divorce so cc'ing our divorce attorney's information seemed unnecessary.
I waited, still no response to my two very simple questions posed the day before.
I forwarded the original email citing this email likely ended up in her spam and kindly asked Ms. Colburn the same two questions elaborating my needing to know if I should prepare an account for my portion of the division and kindly requesting open communication between her firm, myself and my ex husband.
To this I received a snarky email back saying she was sorry 'my attorney' wasn't communicating with me but she sent them information.
Well great but the attorneys aren't pay you, we are, and STILL no answer to the two very simple questions of what the process and the time frame are.
At this point it is apparent that we are going to have issues with communication so I let her know we would find another firm to aid in our division.
It gets better....Ms. Colburn then proceeds to email all parties, meaning our respective attorney's to tattle on me for opted out of using her firm.
It read like a guilty middle schooler rushing to the teacher to lay down a phony defense as to curb any blow back from poor behavior.
I reluctantly forwarded Ms. Colburn and my communication to the already involved parties acknowledging they are not a part of this process then quietly waiting for a note telling me to go to the principals office.
Complete lack of professionalism and objectivity.
