Approximately three years ago, my son hired Mr. Grabner to represent him in a custody suit on behalf of our two year old grandson. I had heard a number of good things about Mr. Grabner and, in the beginning, was very impressed with his legal thoroughness, tenacity, and knowledge. In the last year or so, something changed in Mr. Grabner's demeanor and approach to our case. Admittedly, my son could be a difficult client (if only due to his concerns over the wellbeing of his son/my grandson), however, I’m aware of some personal event(s) in Mr. Grabner’s life that very well affected his attention to at least my son’s case. This in Mr. Grabner’s approach to his legal practice was also noted to me by at least one other person who’s involved in the judicial process. Mr. Grabner last represented my son during a contempt hearing in June of this year. During this hearing and although he had subpoenaed a professional counselor as a witness on my son’s behalf, Mr. Grabner failed to call the witness to testify and refused to present any evidence of contempt action(s) against the other party. We didn’t realize the gravity of Mr. Grabner’s actions (or lack thereof) until a recent action brought by the other party against my son for contempt of court. The presiding judge ruled strongly against my son in this most recent matter, I firmly believe, in great part to Mr. Grabner’s previous legal inefficiency. I certainly hope that Mr. a Grabner is able to change his professional course!
