Doug is the kind of guy who will go out fighting for what you deserve!
Doug is direct and honest. He explained the aspects we could handle ourselves and when we would need to obtain counsel. Because of Doug, we were very pleased with the outcome of our settlement. We highly recommend Doug Levy!
Call me unlucky but between 2017 and 2014 I've been hit 5 times. Some were minor parking lot pumps while 3 of them were bad collisions.
What impresses me about Doug is that he will tell you if you need him as an attorney or if you can handle it on your own. Any other lawyer will be happy to take your money! I used him for the 3 big collisions but not for the other 2.
Having permanent neck injuries made it difficult to deal with different insurances and insurance attorneys. Doug is amazing at handling hard cases. He knows the process and he explains it with detail and care.
I have always felt that his main concern was for me to get better and get the medical treatments I needed. His memory and attention to detail are incredible. His organization and follow up on your case are impressive.
I do not wish for anybody having to use an attorney, but if you need a really good one, Doug Levy is the one you need on your side. I do NOT wish to be on an opposing side against him! He can be friendly and easy going but when it comes to getting down to business, he's the one person that will defend you all the way. I appreciate he always asks about my family and my business. This lawyer has a heart :) even though our backgrounds are as opposite as they can be! Thanks Doug!
This could not have been done alone. We tried and fought with them for a year. Once we had Levy on our side, we got this resolved in 6 weeks. Case Closed! Thank you Attorney Levy! I highly recommend him and will certainly call him in the future for additional legal help.
My traumatic experience began during a bicycle ride on a beautiful February day in Tucson. At an intersection an RV suddenly turned into my path, dragging my bike and me along the concrete. My injuries were massive.
Enter Doug Levy. The first thing he said to me: I want you to recover. That's my biggest concern.
One of Doug's strengths is knowing how to establish a rapport with his clients. In my case, as a former sports reporter/columnist, he revealed a remarkable knowledge of all sports which instantly helped us form a working relationship. He is extremely professional, yet engaging, with skills that extend far beyond the legal jargon.
From Day One, Doug told me my situation was unique. I had no idea how the process works. He convinced me patience is the key to reaching the best possible settlement. And he was completely correct.
I would highly recommend Doug Levy, who has now become a friend, as a personal injury attorney.
I've consulted with Doug Levy several times on several different matters.
In each case, Doug told me why I should *not* hire him, which circumstances would have to have been different for me to get a favorable outcome, and what I could do on my own to work for a resolution that got me results that I wanted.
Doug's advice as been so helpful to me, in fighting the smaller issues, that I know that if I ever have a big issue to deal with, he'll be the best attorney to fight for me.
What convinces me that Doug will fight for me is not his excellent record, (which he has) or the numerous people that I've helped (there are tons) - it's the fact that when I had a smaller complaint worth a few hundred dollars, he took the time to point me in the right direction to help myself, answered follow-up questions that I had, and has always been interested in seeing justice served - whether or not it was his case or not.
This is why I love Doug - Doug's priority is to see that the "little guy" is able to prevail against the deep-pockets of big companies and corporations, whose teams of lawyers exist to ensure that the "little guy" always loses.
So do yourself a favor - call two or three lawyers, but make sure you call Doug first. If he doesn't think your case has merit, he'll even tell you the names of other lawyers who would be more likely to work with you. If you need to do some follow up work or learn a few things before working with another attorney, Doug will patiently explain things to you.
I've known Doug as an acquaintance for years, as we have many friends in common and common interests. Becoming friends with Doug allowed me to see what a great guy he is.

Over the last five years, here in Tucson, I have been consulting with Doug regarding various legal issues including but not limited to a medical malpractice case. Without fail Doug has always given me the necessary attention to evaluate matters in a comprehensive way.
I gave Doug a call and immediately liked him. I learned more from him in one phone call than the months I had been with G & O. Doug brought me in to his office and got to know me and my injuries.
He made sure that I understood the steps I needed to take to protect myself while being out of work and what information I should be aware of.
Doug won the case (goes without saying based on his reputation), and got me the settlement I deserved.
Years later, I was unfortunate enough to be in another auto accident, and naturally called on Doug to represent me again. This accident took me years to recover from and was much more complicated than the first. Doug did an excellent job walking me through every step of the way and making me feel comfortable in things that are foreign to me.
The end result was better that I anticipated and hopefully, I'll never need his services again, but if so, he would represent me EVERY time!
The owner of the body shop to which the car was towed said to me, You need a really tough New York-type lawyer to represent you on this, and he gave me the name of Doug Levy. Who actually is from New York.
A few days later my bandaged-up girlfriend and I were in Doug's office -- and the hospital ER had already had THEIR lawyer file a $4000 lien against my friend. Doug and his assistant chatted with us for at least an hour, getting to know us, our backgrounds and personalities, and telling us about their firm and how they did business.
He then said, after he got the full details of the accident, and the fact that MY policy on the car fortunately had $250,000 worth of "under-insured motorist" on it, "Hayford, in Tucson, a broken clavicle like this is worth about $40,000. You are obviously intelligent enough to handle this by yourself. Take your legal pad and I will tell you all the steps you need to take to get that $40,000 and that's all you have to do. This consultation is absolutely free." He began to tell me what to do -- and after a while I stopped him and said, "No, Doug, YOU go ahead and do it. I will be happy to pay you the 33% of the recovered money." He said again that I was throwing money away, but I insisted. So he took the case.
And I am SO glad that I did!
My girlfriend ended up having $55,000 worth of medical bills, which I paid for out of pocket, with CASH, while Doug began to put together a voluminous file about case. We consulted practically daily by email or phone for the next TWO YEARS about this. He was doubtful that he would get my insurance company, who had brought THEIR very top lawyer into the case, to agree to arbitration, which was what Doug wanted, rather than going to trial, which, in his judgment, would not have been as favorable to us. Eventually he did a deal with the other lawyer: if we agreed that an arbitrator could NOT give a judgment more than $250,000, then we would have it arbitrated. Eventually, with STILL more paperwork by Doug, AND rounding up witnesses to testify in our behalf, we went to arbitration in August of 2007 and got a decision a couple of months later.
The arbitrator awarded us $190,000. This was less than we had hoped for, BUT more than Doug himself thought, from his long experience, that we would normally get. So everything ended about as well as could be expected. And I will say that Doug Levy is certainly the best lawyer in Tucson to deal with any case of this nature.
Period.
He is an extremely skillful and knowledgeable attorney, an experienced and talented negotiator, highly ethical and honest, and a thorough, caring communicator who truly understands client needs. Our case was fairly complex and involved several surgeries. It was Doug's patience, understanding of the process and ability to anticipate events that carried the day and produced a just and reasonable settlement.
He and his staff were always available for consultation, information sharing and reassurance, and the quality of documentation and analysis was consistently outstanding. We felt we were in capable hands throughout the process, and were never disappointed.
We hope never again to experience another personal injury situation, but if the unfortunate were to occur we would certainly seek Doug Levy's help once again, without reservation.
