You replied:
"I see that our firm saw you free of charge on two separate occasions to review your case and speak with you in person. I know that we spent more than our usual consultation time on both occasions to ensure we were able to get all the details needed to make a determination about your case and to allow you the time you needed to ask questions."
"Unfortunately, after reviewing the information provided by you, it was determined that our firm was unable to assist you and take your case."
Actually, you only saw me once, and for about 10 minutes. The second time was when I called and said I received my denial letter and it was suggested I come in and talk to the attorney to see if she could suggest anything else. I canceled that appointment because I felt like my case was not being taken seriously from the comments I was hearing. First impressions matter. Apparently, according to your response here, you had already made the determination that you didn't want my case so coming in for the second consultation would have been another waste of time. At the very least I would have expected a recommendation to file an SS-8 form with the IRS to have my status as an employee determined. I found that free advice on Google. The IRS has a point system to determine if you are an employee or an independent contractor. Under those definitions, it seems to me I should have definitely been classified as an employee.
UPDATE: I managed to find a competent attorney to represent me and the Industrial Commission ruled in my favor, that I had indeed been misclassified as an independent contractor. I guess my case wasn't that complicated after all.
May God Bless you all richly and for more complete success with your firm. Don't ever change who you are. You are all exactly the way you should be.
Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart and my health. Take care and God bless to the entire firm.
Sincerely,
Gail A. Delio
