Mr Higgins is an attorney who is highly experienced at swindling his clients and attempting to persuade them into accepting a plea and jail time when the client is innocent. I paid good money to help a dear friend and this was my experience. Higgins has a growing reputation for colluding with the prosecution in an attempt to have his client, my friend, thrown in jail. Higgins failed to communicate regarding updates with the court proceedings. Higgins should be disbarred for how he has misled his client and the mishandling of his client's case.

Ive worked with mr. Higgins and would NOT recommend him. I was referred to him thru a friend. He took my money and dragged out my case for almost 2 years. He kept asking for continuances so he could charge me more money every time we had to go to court. I came to find out he was a friend of the judge and would go into chambers and thry would agree on continuing my case. They had video evidence that I was wrongly accused. The reason the judge wouldnt dismiss the case according to mr higgins is that there is a panel of people who need to review the tape and there was a lady who was on vacation for almost 2 years. I paid his retainer and never paid for the extra time in court since I have the proof now that he was doing it for his own personal gain. He is now wanting to take me to court to force me to pay for all the "time and effort" he put into my case. I myself never once set foot in a court room. I would meet him outside the court and he would go in alone to speak to the judge. Based off of my experience, I would never recommend him and I will tell everyone I know do not go to him if you need a lawyer.

I think anyone that has to deal with an "odditor" should have 1000 stars!! If his client had kept his own mouth shut he might have been able to keep a great attorney!

Doesn't listen to his client's wishes and has his own agenda. Plus doesn't give appropriate refunds for services that aren't rendered. From what I hear he is kind of a d*****bag.

If you are an "activist" and you are in court because of your activism, and you hire an attorney with decades of experience in that court system because he knows how to play the game THEIR way and you do not, then maybe you should put your ego aside and LISTEN to your attorney and stop your antics, both in and out of court, that make it difficult for your attorney to achieve a positive outcome for you.
Otherwise you should represent yourself.

Also, because the police RESPECT a criminal defense attorney for his competence and professionalism does NOT mean that they LIKE him because he throws cases in their favor. It does NOT mean that that attorney is in cahoots with them or the DA or the courts to screw you.

Lastly, if you are a criminal defense attorney, you may want to think twice before you agree to represent a sovereign citizen, even a closeted one.

Tom Higgins is an excellent criminal attorney. He is a leader in the field, has done a *ton* to help this community - particularly other lawyers! It's clear that some folks have chosen to try and tear down his reputation and there are several false reviewers on this page.

Most of these reviews are clearly spam, from people who have never met Tom or Maggie. I've known them both for 10 years. I am a lawyer myself and I would very happily hire either to represent me. Tom is someone I go to when I need the advice of a senior attorney.

Tom is an AZ native, educated at James E Rogers and has worked for decades within the AZ courts. He has unsurpassed and intricate knowledge of statutes and procedures. He is highly respected in the legal community and when he stands up for a client it is noticed. I have recommended him and will continue to do so.
