In attempt to rush to my friend’s aide, who was just involved in a car wreck, I was charged with a DWI case last January. I was accused of driving reckless through the police made barricade. I never got to speak with my friend, as I was questioned and arrested within minutes of arriving. This was my first ever offense. I was terrified and confused.

Being my first offense, naturally I had no idea where to begin. I was referred to him by a friend, but I still wanted to do research. My first instinct was to google him, landing me to read the reviews on Google. I think everyone’s natural inclination is to remember negative reviews. After a year long battle and working with Mr. Torres, I would disagree with such reviews, only to conclude they aren’t a true depiction of his practice.

Before the court hearing concerning my eligibility to drive, I got into a fender bender, with a person who stopped abruptly at a light. The officer at the scene said I wasn’t lawfully allowed to be driving, that I needed to abandon my car and have someone pick me up. He topped it off with a citation.

I called Mr. Torres immediately, he adamantly disagreed and spent the rest of his day calling officials in Austin to find out why I would receive that citation. It turned out, the Police were wrong in issuing the ticket and Mr. Torres even spent more time in court to get it dismissed.

My court was set for May, months after receiving the charges, only for it to be reset month after month.
Finally, when the evidence (video) was released, Mr. Torres agreed with me that I had a solid case. He confidently said to me, “if it comes down to it, I believe we should fight this case”. While awaiting the hearing, Mr. Torres would always keep me updated and show me the instances he was constantly working with officials on my case. Every time we met for a court, Mr. Torres, plainly communicated the day’s agenda. He always seemed to be a step ahead of all the other the attorneys by constantly speaking to court personnel.
In November, Mr. Torres told me that my case was dismissed (due to lack of evidence).
I would strongly recommend Mr. Torres to any individual who must fight the same battle.

I hired Mr. Torres for a simple traffic violation. The conversation prior to hiring him went well. Unfortunately, the follow up conversation where we discussed a court date was absolutely unprofessional.
