I went for a simple divorce. Almost a year and close $8000 later, no divorce. I paid for meetings that I wasn’t in attendance nor did I ask for them, when I asked her for the minutes and outcome of these meetings the response was they didn’t take any and could not explain what was said. “I” had to pay for her parking (at the courthouse) because her representative was late and could not find parking. WTH!!!! I ending up ending her service because she kept asking for money. I had to hire a new attorney, who took over my case and in less than 3 months and an 8th of what I paid her, got me my divorce. I am in the process in filling a grievance. She’s a thief!!!! I urge anyone who has had this problem, file a grievance too!! It’s sad that she rides on her grandfathers coat tails, SHAME ON HER!!! She needs to find a new profession like going back to being a playmate!!

All her attorneys quit in November and in December paralegals quit. The staff she has now have come and gone from her practice. The attorneys she sells you on she sues: has a pending lawsuit against some of her former associates attorneys.

I hired this firm to represent me during my divorce. Day 1 the wrong paper work was filled, calls not answered, emails gone ect. Absolutely the worst communication from a firm I’ve ever seen. “ I’ll look into and call you back” is complete BS. You won’t get a call back, I’ve waited MONTHS for them to give me my retainer fee back. So, they mess up.....they hold my money and I still pay them a fee. That’s what kind of firm this is. You WILL get a call back for them to obtain you. They will make every effort to get your business but as soon as they have your money you are on your own. And when you call or send emails they won’t be returned. I have got the run around for literally months.

They changed my lawyer without notice before my second hearing with an inexperienced incompetent dime store lawyer. What a way to serve a veteran.
They only call me when they want money and they RIP you off with bogus and outrageous costs. They never respond to my emails. Don't make the same mistake I did with these den of thieves and incompetent fools. Take 10 to 20 grand and burn it in a pile. It's the same thing.

I would never recommend these people to anybody. They charged me $3,000 and told me it was all spent on emails and phone calls. Worked long hours to complete the myriad of documents required to help resolve our legal matters. When "hiccup" occurred, Ms. Gonzalez was extremely receptive and involved to ensure issues were resolved quickly. My experience in the very beginning was ok but when they call constantly for more money and for what ?? MS Gonzales really didn't do anything at all. I provided address, pictures, everything to help her and nothing... This is one of the many reasons lawyers have a bad name.

I would not recommend this law office to anyone. EVER!!!! Dont get me wrong. My attorney was amazing and won my rather simple family court case; however he has since left this office if that tells you anything.

Rebecca doesnt work on any of her own cases. This was made clear when I had the consultation with her and she assigned me to another attorney even though I requested her.

My retainer was a few thousand dollars and that was eaten up rather quickly with no work done. She charges $400 an hour to set up a plan of action and in addition to review your bill monthly even if nothing has really happened on your account. Her associates charge anywhere from $250-$350 an hour for anything...including being charged a minimum of 15 minutes for each phone call or email just to get an update on your case because nobody will return your call or email. Yes that is right best of luck getting a status update on your case...and every time you call or email you will be charged.

I was even charged when my ex-husband called to make arrangements for a payment that the court mandated. This office isnt interested in helping you...but more so helping their pocket.

Lastly if you do not pay or keep your account with a positive balance (yes positive balance, not just paid off monthly) they will let you know with phone call after phone call....BUT... yes BUT when they owe you money best of luck in getting it!!!! Per the court I won partial legal fees back in my case... and that was paid to this office as required in mid October. This is December and I have yet to see the credit that is due to me. All I get from Rebecca's team is "she is reviewing your case so she can close it out." Well hell six weeks of closing my case at $400 an hour I'm going to owe money! I have call multiple times and all I get from the staff is " I dont know, please call back in a FEW weeks."

I would never use her firm

I had gone in a while back to leave my retainer and the next week I decided to cancel proceedings. They tried to convince me to continue with their services and after a lengthy discussion that was really none of their business, they said they had to get accounting to pay out services and return the rest of my retainer. About a month later, I still have not received anything back. They gave me the run-around for about 3 weeks and I still have not received anything in the mail. I'm calling today to see what happened. I should not have to jump through so many hoops to get my retainer back...$4000. Rediculous!

I wish I could give her negative stars, that’s how bad she is. I worked with 4 different paralegals in less then 6 months. None of them listened to me. And they were constantly asking for so much money for not helping. At court, I had no way of contacting who was supposed to be with me, and they were constantly late. I’ve since gone to a different lawyer and they literally laughed at her name she’s that bad! And it turns out they didn’t file my child custody order right so I’ve been screwed over this whole time. So save your money and go elsewhere! I promise, she’s not worth it!!!

***BE INFORMED & WARNED *** Most of the good reviews here are made up clients. Her marketing team advises her to produce these reviews!!! She is a joke to the Family Law community. Ask her about the following:

1. Rebecca does NOT work on any cases. She hasn’t been to Court OR mediation in 5 years! Ask her.
2. She will sell you on her staff. None of her Associate Attorneys or Senior Paralegals have ANY Family Law experience. It’s a revolving door. She can’t keep staff. There has been 13 paralegals in and out of that office this year alone. Ask her.
3. The first $1,000 of your retainer will be gone in 15 minutes after you sign with no work done. She will say free consultation. Then she charges 1.50 hours ($600) of her time to “make a plan of action w her staff” That doesn’t happen. Then $200 admin fee and $200 to open the file. Ask her.
4. She will charge you $200 EVERY month for “Review and edit billing; Meeting with Associate Attorney and Paralegal” There is NO such meeting. Ask her.
5. Every month she does review the invoices ONLY to ADD more fees or ADD more time that the Associate Atty or paralegals have billed. She keeps these edits. A few of her clients have recently seen these edits and have questioned Rebecca. Ask her.
6. She uses the HENRY B GONZALEZ name for marketing. What an awful representation of that name. She’s RAMOS. She changed her name after her divorce for marketing. She hardly speaks to the Gonzalez family and speaks poorly of her Uncles ( her Mother’s brothers).
7. Her ATTORNEYS have no family law experience. Ask for their names beforehand. Research them!! Most are new Attorneys to law or came from Personal injury or debt collection. Ask her.
8. And get ready.. Her staff will call you at least 3-7 times a month for money. Collections becomes more intense right before staff pay days on the 1st and 16th.
9. Lastly, You will not receive a refund of any retainer you have left in your “Trust Account”. She charges you over $500 - $750 to close your file in order to deplete that money.
**DON’T THROW AWAY YOUR MONEY. YOU WILL SPEND NO LESS THAN $7,500 regardless of what is going on with your case. **

From what I've seen, all she does is run up the bill with false charges. This lawyer did not get anything done for my divorce and I paid a lot of money for phone calls that gave me no headway on my case. I had an uncontested divorce and couldn't get temporary orders done with this lawyer. I had to fire her and pay another attorney to get my divorce. Very dissatisfied with her ability to get the job done and the amount she charges is ridiculous.

Follow up real quick, I happened to look at her Yelp reviews, look there if you want to see the truth. She had not gotten on there to have Sharon and her minions post fake reviews. Such unethical behaviors, it is unfathomable. Review her reviews. All those good reviews are written by hereself, her family members, friends and staff. Hell even real professional attorneys like Steven Benke only has about 50 reviews, Letty Gavito one of the best attorneys in San Antonio has 5 reviews, and Charles Hardy from one of the most prestigious offices has 3. 3 reviews, how does she all of a sudden pop up with almost 160 reviews if she is not paying for fake reviews. He office manager Monica goes on and on how wonderful it is to work there and she is not even there anymore. All smoke and mirrors. Look at the review posted by Arlin. That says it all.

They are all fake she is writing them herself and her staff. Review her The below post was posted a while back at the insistence of Rebecca Gonzalez to one of her employees. That employee as well as other employees, were strongly ENCOURAGED to enlist family and friends to write "good reviews" on her behalf in an attempt to bury the bad reviews. I HAVE NEVER USED REBECCA GONZALEZ and NEVER WOULD. I would question all of the so called good reviews she all of a sudden has, It is your call. Good luck.

I never I am surprised at the bad reviews on here for Ms. Gonzalez. The work she had done for me was superb, and I would recommend her to anyone. I especially surprised that the reviews by people that did not even retainer her services. She is very frank and up to the point concerning costs and expenses. But her professionalism is above reproach and I would use her again. I had used another attorney down the road from her and was so happy to get out of that office. I will recommend Ms. Gonzalez again and again. You can not believe a review from someone that did not even retainer her. That is what the internet has become anyone can make up a false complaint, especially when they did not even use the service they are complaining of.

She is getting one star because there aren't zero stars. Worse attorney I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. I read the reviews and wish I would have read them before I met her. I think someone should contact Google and see if thus is even kosher. I printed out the reviews and am going to send them to the Texas State Bar.

Associate attorney Joe Lassen took on my case. He was incredible compassionate! You can tell he has a love for children and cares about the well being of the child. He looks out for what is best for your family. He is also very straight forward, fair and has a lot of integrity. At one point during court, I had to nurse my son. He actually found a private room for us and taped paper on the window for more privacy.! He was very kind - but also was tough during negotiations.

And finally, Amanda, his paralegal. She always kept in touch with me and kept me updated on my case. She had a wonderful attitude.

Absolutely horrible attorney she doesn't know what she is doing. She doesn't go to court ever. She lies and tells you one thing and does the total opposite. It's all about money. Her free consultation is not free. From the minute she opens your file its cost you $900 in fees and charges for work she doesn't do. I looked at the reviews and see her employees and herself writing their own good reviews. I have never seen any other law firm write good reviews about themselves. Pitiful excuse for a law firm. You can do better on your own and save yourself $5k.

MY CASE WAS SUPER EASY BUT THEY CHARGED ME OVER 5000 WHICH THEY QUOTE ME 2500 WHEN I MET REBECCA GONZALEZ THAT 1ST AND ONLY TIME AND I HAD TO GUIDE THE LAWYER THAT WAS APPOINTED TO ME. I'M NOT A LAWYER BUT I JUST HAD TO KEEP TELLING MY LAWYER TO TELL THE JUDGE WHAT WAS EXPECTED FOR MY CASE AND SHE KEPT SAYING THE JUDGE HAS NEVER GIVEN THAT.. AFTER PUSHING THE LAWYER AND SHE WANTED ME TO SETTLE FOR HALF OF WHAT I SUPPOSED TO GET, GUESS WHAT HE DID GAVE ME THAT. ON TOP OF THAT THEY CLOSED MY CASE BEFORE WAS OVER. I HAD TO WALK IN HER OFFICE AND ASK FOR THE MONEY I SUPPOSED TO GOTTEN BACK 3 MONTHS AGO AND TOLD ME YOUR CASE WAS CLOSED BEFORE TIME... AND THEY ALSO WANTED TO KEEP MONEY THAT MY EX HUSBAND SENT TO THEM WHICH I HAD ALREADY PAID ATTORNEY FEES , I HAD TO BE GOING TO THEIR OFFICE MULTIPLE TIMES TO ASK FOR MY MONEY AND KEPT LYING SAYING REBECCA COULDN'T FIND HER CHECK BOOK AND SHE WAS TOO BUSY, THEY JUST DID NOT WANTED TO GIVE ME MY MONEY.... PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS WOMAN....
