COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE!! I tripped over a surface applied transition strip that was not installed per manufacturer's instructions. (The bumpy rubber mats where most sidewalks meet the street). It had pulled up enough for me to get my foot caught under it, trip and fall causing a full thickness tear in my rotator cuff as well as other injuries. Simple case! Phillip DeBerard's office sent a letter to the county stating I tripped over a cracked or broken sidewalk knowing the actual truth that it was the transition strip not the concrete. The County apparently used recources to go out and document every crack in every sidewalk in that area and came to the conclusion that none were bad enough constitute a legal trip hazzard and therefore I was a liar. Consequently, they circled their wagons and stated they would aggressively defend this "false claim" of MINE. I NEVER CLAIMED TO TRIP ON BROKEN CONCRETE! Phillib DeBerard tucked tail and ran, withdrawing as my attorney, I suspect so that I would not find out about his incompetence and possibly because, due to HIS FALSE CLAIM, there would be no easy settlement. I will be seeking the advice of a legal malpractive attorney given that databases all over will have me forever flagged as someone who filed a frivolous or false claim, not to mention the lack of well deserved compensation from the accidident I actually had as apposed to the one they fabricated. I truly hope Martin County seeks compensation for the efforts and expendatures to investigate and defend a false claim fabricated by this Law Firm. THEY ARE THE PUNCHLINE TO EVERY BAD LAWYER JOKE!
