I must say when I found out I could possibly be a convicted felon I was depressed, and so not my self. I called 11 lawyers pretending links I was looking for someone to represent my sister when in fact it was for me. Everyone basically said the same thing. “Pay them half of the money up front and they’ll represent me in court. They’ll try their best to keep me from going to prison but they can’t promise anything. Of the 11 lawyers Mr. Konecky was the only one that offered me a free consultation aside from the first initial phone consult. He called me back throughout the week to ask me how I was doing and even was on the look out to see if a warrant for my arrest was out. He told me NOT to in and make a statement because they will more than likely throw me in jail. I didn’t have the money that he required at the moment so he set up a payment plan with me and every time I could pay more I did until I paid it all. He set me up with a bondsman and he notified when a warrant was out for my arrest. It was just after the New Years and I promise you NO ONE knew I was arrested. I had family over and I told them I had to do some Overtime at work. I was gone for almost 4 hours due to the whole booking and processing. But I returned home soon after. I remembered calling Mr. Konecky because I was in nursing school asking him if I should quit being that I have this arrest on my record and the case is still pending. He said well are you failing? I said no I’m passing. He said well why quit. Don’t let this detour you from following your dreams. If you are convicted then we look at other options. But he was pretty sure that I would not be convicted or sentenced to jail. That little chat that we had pushed me to pursue my license and I did just that. I graduated May 31st and I became licensed on July 26th! Last week I got my court date for my expungement. I was definitely pleased with the service I got, I was scared when I first got my case that I would be going to prison, and Matthew Konecky was able to do the best job anybody could have done. Great guy, great lawyer. I was charged with dui, was going through some deep family issues handled it the wrong way. Got into an accident and thus was arrested. When I was shopping around for lawyers, I literally had a guy say, "well 2 grand and we can cover most of your case, get most of the traffic citations dropped lowers your tickets, but if it goes to trial that's a whole other fee. Now if you give me 3 grand well take care of everything for you, up until we get to trial." Mind you I didn't even have any citations or tickets, the man didn't even pull up my case. Was hustling me over the phone talking to me like I was bargaining at some flea market. When I called Matthew he not only immediately stopped what he was doing, he pulled up my case and went over it with me on the phone then and there. He showed me sympathy when noone else would and gave me piece of mind. You get what you pay for and sadly in America you get the justice you can afford. But I was a guy who had barely any money and had lost a lot in my life. He set me up with a payment plan on trust alone and allowed me to pay him over the course of several months as he represented me. Any time of the day I would call him with questions he would accept the call and answer them. I ended up getting a year of probation for misdemeanor DUI, no added charges from being involved in an accident. Even after the case was settled when the victim decided to sue me several months later, I was worried about what I was going to be hit with. He was sueing my insurance for half a million and I was worried he was also going to hit me when it came to the court ordered restitution. Again, even after the case was settled, Matthew took care of me and eased my worries. Explained why he couldn't hit me on both ends with fees and continued to work for me and with me in getting this part of my life resolved so I could move forward. For what he did to help me and solve my case I will be forever grateful. He is a good man and treats his clients with respect. A grade above other attorneys. For anyone in a legal bind unsure of who to turn to and dealing with shady lawyers, trying to hustle you out of your money and who quite frankly don't give a damn about you, I will always recommend Matthew.
