Very knowledgeable, helpful and supportive.

I've applied for their assistance three times in the past two years. Before I applied the first time, a worker informed me they couldn't deny me if there were children involved and I qualified. Even though I qualify for their assistance, they have turned me away stating they do not have the resources to help on my case. The first time I applied they stated it looked like my case was almost over and even suggested going to trial without an attorney because they felt the Judge would have pity on me. The other two times I applied, I had been informed they could not deny me aid due to being on public assistance in addition to my other qualifying factors, but they still denied me. I even reached out to all of the other resources on their denial letter, to which none of them will help me either. They simply refer me back to legal aid and say to apply again. Just in case you are wondering, the other resources to contact on their denial letter include: The Florida Bar Association, UnitedWay's 211 program, Florida Rural Legal Services, and the court house's family court services unit for self help.

The staff seemed rude and short in their communications over the phone, but now the application is online. Unfortunately, my overall experiences with this organization have been poor to say the least. Sad really, especially when the sole purpose they exist is to help those in need.

They attempt to be as least helpful as possible.

They gave me advice that helped me get my security deposit returned from landlords who were trying to take advantage of me. Professional and kind staff.

They are a godsend. I owe them bigtime.

I'm very thankful for all the help that was given to me. The staff was very professional and committed. The lawyer that represented me Ms.Alina Gonzalez-Dockery was outstanding .Her personal interest was invaluable and indispensable.She was so dedicated and passionate towards helping me and my family.The personnel and staff were all amazing,every time I had a question or any kind of worry I had the confidence that I was gonna have an answer and a satisfying answer.The receptionist always did all she could to help me.Thankyou Legal Aid and all the people that contribute for this society to exist.

the hispanic woman at the counter was rude "name was not worth remembering "i asked a simple question and was given a horrible attitude not every one is "ignorant" some people are educated if you don't enjoy what you do then do better and get better stop trying to make the whole world as miserable as you are ! the other lady was helpful she was caucasian with curly hair

These people are a God send. Blair (my attorney) was absolutely phenomenal in the court room, she was knowledgeable and sharp as a knife. She handled my case exactly the way I needed it to be done - with integrity and honesty while still having my back and I felt I was her top priority despite her other cases. Veronica (Blair's paralegal) was sympathetic and understanding and worked so hard to make sure I brought home my baby. The whole situation was unjust and unfair and for the first time in my life these wonderful women made the system work for me instead of against me. My ex husband had a paid lawyer and the Legal Aid worked for me as hard if not harder, and I didn't have to pay a dime. They were emotionally supportive and held my hand (figuratively) throughout the whole process and I thank God every time I look at my little girl that they were there for me.

It has been several months now since I have dealt with their office. I figured I would wait until my emotions were not so much involved before posting a review. I will have to say that they need experience in dealing with domestic violence situations. I also would like to add that Alina(which is the director)and Veronica (paralegal assistant) were very rude and not very professional during my divorce. I will say that you are better of representing yourself than to have this office represent you. If I could give 0 stars I would.

This place is a joke, you apply to get some help and have to wait 2 weeks to call back bcus they dont even call or write you back, applied here 2 times me being a low income person, with a part time job and still got denied your better off hiring an attorney.

Don't waste your time!! The sign in their office says "People don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care." From personal experience that means NOT AT ALL. If you want to spend over a year waiting for NOTHING to get done, have phone calls that go unreturned, and have a lawyer who will not advocate for anything that matters to you, then you may be in the right place. Otherwise, turn around and RUN. Saving money isn't worth what this horrible service will cost you in the end. Not even worth the one star required to post.
