Becoming disabled is earth shattering. It's your most humbling and challenging moment. Attorney Cavey was a life raft for me. I had been shockingly denied my SSDI twice and was filing my claim alone. She swept in and her team began diligently working on my behalf. The day came for me to sit in front of the SSA judge. I was so nervous! Suddenly Nancy walked up and hugged me. She had presented my case before I got there and told me that the SSA Judge was shocked and ashamed that I had been denied and that my case went so far for so long. He stamped it total and permanent without me having to meet with him. I adore Nancy and her friendly team. She's fighting for me as I manage the hell that private LTD insurance companies put disabled folks through. It's sad that disabled persons have to endure so many brick walls and suffering. I don't think I could survive the endless anxiety and upheaval without her and her team. Dan Hall gets a shout-out! He has put up with my panic attacks and mis-directed outrage many times and never looses his patience and understanding. Go talk to Ms Cavey. You'll be glad you did.

She's obviously getting to old to do her job. No one ever called me back, only emailed me. Which I told them I do not use email, and even asked can someone please call me, still didn't happen. She didn't see me before my court date, when I went in to see her, I was told she wasn't there, but her dog was there. If you're gonna lie about it, hide your dog.
I was actually told that even though I had sufficient evidence, and I quote "that it's really just how the judge is feeling, it's just luck of the draw" unquote. To which I flipped out. I asked how is that possible? Isn't that why there are laws?! I didn't get a response as to why Ms. Cavey didn't say a word at my hearing, apart from her name that is.
So beware...

Overall to the best of my knowledge, experience and research, I would state in my opinion that Nancy Cavy and her firm are for the most part “Excellent” as far as lawyers go. Her fees are on the low end of the average, but her skill in fighting for my own specific case seemed to me to be very successful. She and her staff was patient and seemed to show a real sense of sympathy for my personal situation. The only input I would submit is the fact that I had to be very proactive to gain information on what was the status of my case and what all the legal jargon meant, but this is not uncommon in the current state of our society. I happen to be a senior citizen so I’ve had to adapt to modern society. This seems to be the norm for any business nowadays. So once again taking all things into consideration, I would highly recommend Nancy Cavy’s Law Firm.

If your looking for a law firm that can handle your WC,LTD or SSDI then this should be your first stop. Cavey Law was able to get my worker's comp for me when the insurance company said no to me. Everyone that I've worked with so far has been great and return calls or emails right away. I want to give a shout out to Krysti in the LTD department, I bug her all the time with questions and she still takes my calls and reassure's me that everything will okay. Nancy's been great to work with and I'm looking forward to working with Cavey Law again. I would like to update my post. I'm happy to say that I was awarded my SSDI and I'm thankful for MS Cavey. But I have to change my rating from 5 to 3. Now that were done I received a bill for copy's that she had to get in the amount of $282.16. That's not the problem I did sign a paper that said I would pay Fee's after the $6000.00. The problem is when ever I went to the doctor's I asked for my records and then faxed them over to Ms Cavey office. I even got a letter from Sam stating that she could get Med Record's from 3 Dr's and asked if I could help. I drove there and picked up reports and sent them in and now I'm being charged as part of the $282.16. Sent email questioning the bill and Sam said that you signed the form and we were monitoring your LTD claim and didn't charge you. I wanted a call with Ms Cavey and was setup for today at 1030 am. when no one called I emailed and said I was waiting and got back an email saying Ms Cavey dial your cell # and said wrong # and was told she has moved on now. Very disappointed now that were done and it's as if they don't care now. I spent a lot of time and gas money getting records for this case so my advise is just sit back and let them do the work and be careful to what you sign.

On the night of the banquet Nancy and her staff attend the banquet and mix with the teachers, sharing their genuine enthusiasm for the winners. Diana shares her observations of her site visits with all the banquet guests. This might be the best part of the night. The pictures that were taken are on a running display throughout the evening for all to see.

To cap off the banquet Nancy recognized a "Lifetime Award Winner". This award goes to a retiring teacher that has spent a distinguished career doing the job year-in and year-out at a superb level. A special touch of this year's banquet was the presence of the Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association President Mike Gandolfo. Mike had some brief but powerful comments that showed Nancy what it means to the teaching profession to have someone like her in their corner.

Nancy knows teachers. It turns out her husband is one. She understands their importance to the community. She knows how they think and what they feel. She knows that good teachers don't do it for the material gain (although they do appreciate the wonderful gifts). Good teachers do it for love. And love is what they get in return from this award and this experience that Nancy has created and underwritten.

I can personally attest to these things. I was fortunate to be one of those winners and I've not experienced anything like this in over 35 years of teaching.
