Paid a Ms Barbara Leon from this group to stop a garnishment from a past debt. She "left a msg" to OC, did not ever call or update me, ignored all of my msgs, & only responded through email if I initiated it. I had to hire another attorney, who stopped the garnishment in 1 week. If you want to be ignored & made to feel worthless, Ms Leon is the attorney for you.

Bankruptcy is scary. I filed not too long out of graduate school because it was during the recession and I could not find a job and find a way to pay those massive student loans. I originally filed with an attorney who took my first check, filed my bankruptcy and then dismissed me entirely. I still needed to get my diploma and my transcripts, but the school was with holding them due to a past due Perkins loan. My bankruptcy put that loan on hold, but the school ignored that. My original lawyer never returned one of 80 phone calls or emails or lifted a finger to help me. I found out through God-loving Google that you can switch attorneys and I just found Christie in a blog much like this one. She took me on, filed my paperwork, got my diploma and transcripts for me and if I panicked and emailed her at 2am, she had replied directly to me (not a template email) by the time I woke up. Her associate, Angie, is equally as helpful and immediately attentive. This bankruptcy practice will NOT let you down after your first check, they will stick by your side for the entire 5 years (should you file Ch 13). I can't recommend them more, it's not a fun process but it helps so much if you have this group of ladies on your side, believe me. :)

Prior to the foreclosure, the mortgage company had engaged in unlawful collection practices trying to collect money from me. These folks have been absolutely awesome throughout my entire bankruptcy they have been responsive to every concern I have ever had
Even a lot of the stupid questions that I had they were more than willing to take the time to explain everything in detail
One thing though that I think everyone should know is that when you file a bankruptcy you as a client have serveral responsibilities that have to be met or else to trustee might take action against you which of course leads to problems for you and the attorney as well

That being said I believe one of the most important things that anyone can do that's dealing with these issues is to ask questions and write down the necessary things that you have to do if there's ever any question you can call Christie's office at any time during the week of course you can be certain you will have a response and a very timely fashion

I was endorser on my son's student loans, which had monthly payments set at an unthinkable $1,140. Ms. Arkovich somehow got that down to under $100. After one in-person consultation, she researched the case, followed through with the necessary phone calls and filing, and kept us fully informed. Truly professional service for a very affordable fee. I am in my 70's and cannot express my relief and appreciation.

I have struggled with a Private Student loan debt collection company for years. Christie and her staff are very good at what they do and they work hard to provide you with the best outcome possible. I was a "co-signer" for a friend in the amount of $25,000 to attend Medical School. I had no problem with this as he was a solid friend, becoming an MD and 20 years younger than me.

He deferred payments for Internship, Residency and then start-up practice. His loan had grown to $37,000 in interest and late fees. Then unexpectedly and unfortunately, he died. The student loan company subsequently turned on me for payment of the loan. His Estate plan did not cover the cost and I was stuck with the burden.
