I don't even know where to begin to explain what a waste of money it was to spend on Monica's legal services. If you have a difficult custody case with a difficult ex-spouse, do not hire her. If your case entails simple details, then the low value of service is worth it.
I hired Monica to handle my sister's case and in the consultation, she assured me that her fee was on the high side (it was not, quality of work=quantity paid).
1. Various times she left everything for last minute (day before court).
2. She did not do her due diligence on the other party.
3. Was not aggressive at all to fight for my sister's rights as a mother.
4. In the end, my sister had to speak up for herself in court.
5. She never consoled my sister to let her know what options she had.
6. Her ex-spouse made serious allegations towards her leading to 3 drug tests and expensive psychological/ psychiatric exams and Monica never pushed in court for him to do the same.
There are many other factors I can go into explaining why Monica is not capable of handling a difficult custody case.
I never write reviews on any business or service even if it was a bad one, to not ruin the business's reputation but this situation is different. The lives of children are involved and the outcome can cause future damage to the child, which is why I thought it was important to address.
The unsatisfactory of her performance is not based on a "winner" or a "loser" outcome but more because I felt I hired a secretary and not a lawyer to fight for my family's well being.
I hope this helps others to do extensive research when hiring a lawyer, especially when the welfare of children are involved.
