Mr Poteet does what he says he can do! I had an out of state DUI that would have required me to go to north Carolina. I called several lawyers and they all told me I would have to come there. This attorney can make th impossible situations possible. I’ve used him for every ticket I’ve ever gotten. He’s took care of them all at a reasonable price, he lets you know what he can and can’t do but for the most part I’ve never heard him or anyone at his office say they can’t fix my situations even tho I do carry a class A CDL which makes things a little harder to deal with he still finds away. If your looking for a good attorney this is it.

Mr. Poteet is a kind, hard-working, and highly reasonable man. He is also very reasonably priced. However, I was told to make payments every two weeks, which in my opinion and experience with attorneys, was maybe unfair and atypical. I expected a monthly payment plan. That aside, when I went to make my final payment, I knew that I had a balance of $200. I made a payment on Nov. 24 of $100 and was attempting to make another payment on Dec. 9. I was told, by the representative on the telephone, that I had a balance of $300. Which, I knew was incorrect. I felt that this put me in a vulnerable position, where I had to stand up for myself and tell the person on the other end of the line that they were incorrect, and ask if they could go back and check the record to make sure. I said this numerous times during the phone call. Despite this confusion, the problem was resolved. Apparently the previous payment had not been processed yet, or something.

My previous review was written from a place of potentially being taken advantage of, which would make anyone angry. If I had been more timid and wanted to avoid conflict in that moment, I may have ended up paying an extra $100. I felt, in that moment, as if they tried to charge me an extra $100! I don't know very many folks who can afford to lose $100 for no reason. However, this was a minor and common mistake, and I would hire Mr. Poteet again.

He took a bad, life changing situation and turned it into a simple fine and court costs. Would use again without a second thought.

Received my first speeding ticket ever. Received this lawyers info and was told he is the best. From the service I received from Jeannie at the front desk with what to expect from her until the court date. And they would notify after my court date of the outcome. And she did just that. He got it dropped to improper equipment. No points on my license. No insurance increases. No driving school and did not have to appear in court. Highly recommend this office. Honestly didn't use their services but the woman at the front desk acted strangely suggesting i had to hire them/pay to talk to a lawyer. i went there for a speeding ticket and she stated they would claim "improper equipment" which would be a lie. my vehicle works fine and i wasn't there to have them lie in court for me. i wanted the truth to be told. I'm taking my business elsewhere

Being a single mom with 2 kids that solely depend on me... money doesnt go far. He let me make payments. Overall I think he was wonderful. This lawyer Mathew Poteet and his staff are hands down the best. I used him twice for 2 different speeding tickets. The second time I hired this Mr. Poteet was 1 hour from my court appearance at home over the phone. They had both my tickets reduced to improper equipment. The Paralegal was wonderful. I hired Mr. Poteet to handle two failure to appears on a driving while license revoked and the next week he had both charges dismissed with no points against me. I never even had to appear in court. I will recommend this guy to anyone.

I understand some attorneys have boundaries when it comes to responding to clients after hours or on weekends, but Hickory lawyers (Not Mr. Poteet) aren't cheap and are not accessible which makes them worthless. Mr Poteet responded to my email within an hour on a Sunday! He told me to drop off some information Monday morning to get a collision ticket taken care of and he did. Outstanding attorney highly recommend, very professional staff as well.

Matthew Poteet is a professional, understanding and honest person. His secretary's are always professional, friendly and they are always there to help you understand the different procedure's on handling your tickets. I was referred to Matthew Poteet from a friend and I've made the correct choice on choosing Matthew to handle my case. Everything he said that he would do on handling my ticket, he has done.

I've recently had a speeding ticket taken care by Matthew Poteet office. The customer service I've received from the secretary and office was very nice, professional and I was also given all the information I needed to know about handling my ticket. I was even surprised when I received a letter in the mail with a receipt showing what Matthew Poteet had done to my ticket. I would definitely continue to use Matthew Poteet for any future tickets and I would also refer Matthew Poteet to all my family and friends.

I was verbally promised the results Mr. Poteet would produce. Never got any paper work stating the promised out come would happen, she never even did research on my (traffic) case before she stated the probable outcome. I assumed they would handle it because I paid for it in full and washed my hands of the situation. 2+ years later I find out that the results promised were not met, he did not do anything I couldn't have done. My question is why the heck did I pay this guy $***.**?? I called up the seemingly only person that works at this office to understand why it wasn't dropped (like I was promised[which is the only reason I paid the guy]) and the receptionist was very impatient and unprofessional, yes I was irritated, but both times I talked to her she slammed the phone down and hung up. Now maybe I'm new to the world of lawyers, but hanging up on clients is unacceptable.

Edit: Finally got to talk to Mr. Poteet, he was very pleasant, knowledgable and was willing to work with me. Maybe my misunderstanding stems from a poor customer service rep from two years ago that misinformed me. After speaking with Mr. Poteet I now understand my charges and what legally could and could not have happen, looking back I should've requested more information before writing the check, because it seems I was looking for a lawyer to make something disappear that couldn't be hidden.

I think Mr. Poteet is one of the best if not the best lawyer there is. I can assure you a welcoming staff and also very professional staff. They explain everything that there is to your case, in detail so that you may not be confused. It was such an ease working with them. Very satisfied with the help I received.
