The judge kept getting upset with Dan for showing up late. It won't help your case if the Judge thinks your Attorney is a joke. He's got his chin held high at 4 foot 11 inches tall. Not sure where his pride comes from cause he's a failure at his job. Very unprofessional.

Wow! Where do I begin with my experience with Dan Carman?! I’d hired Dan about a year ago for some pretty serious criminal charges I ended up with during my addiction. Dan worked and worked, to get me where I wanted to be for my guilty plea and final sentencing. He was honest about the outcome we wanted versus the outcome we could get. My case started in 2016 and I just got final sentenced in 2020. It was long, difficult, and very attention demanding, but Dan never once lost hope to the fact we wouldn’t come out the way we wanted! Awful. Wanted to meet at 2 in the morning for payment of a few thousand dollars as a retainer fee. Showed up to court late. Was paid well over a month before the court date and knew nothing about the client or even spoke to him. I’m also not quite sure if he has front teeth and I’m pretty sure they are rotten considering the smell of his God awful breath. Handed the judge his business card and didn’t even speak up. Hit on me in front of my husband who he was supposed to be representing. He may do well with small crimes like traffic tickets but he’s worthless and a disgrace to lawyers in general. Steer clear. Had no copies of any paperwork or any type of documentation at all. And when I say hit on me, grabbed my thigh twice in front of my mother in law. I was embarrassed and wasn’t even the one in front of the judge. I wouldn’t recommend him to my dog.

Dan Carmen is the worst lawyer in all of Kentucky, poor manners, lack of empathy and no presence in court, Dan was consistently late to court dates and was unable to negotiate anything with the prosecutor, his main concern was his collecting his check. I would advise everyone to steer clear of him, he epitomizes why people mistrust lawyers.

Thanks for doing absolutely NOTHING in the 6+ months you were paid. It's pretty sad that a court appointed attorney makes more progress in a MONTH than you did the whole time on the case. Literally had to start over from scratch because you done LITERALLY nothing. He's money hungry and does NOT care about you. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

While working on my PhD at the University of Kentucky, I was charged with a misdemeanor. Although it was “only” a misdemeanor and not a felony, it was still a charge that could destroy my career if I was convicted. Complicating the issue, I was very intoxicated when I was given the citation and did not know what evidence the police had against me. I did not know any lawyers in Lexington, but I did have a friend who had previously run into legal trouble. I asked him for advice, and he referred me to Dan Carman.

When I met Dan, it quickly became clear that he was smart and knew what he was doing. After talking with him, I decided that while I didn’t know how the case would unfold, my best bet was to hire Dan as my attorney.

Without going too far into the details of the case, I have to say that I have been very pleased with his work as my attorney.
