He may be good at some things, but he promised us he specialized in family court. He made no attempt to move forward with our case and we almost lost our son who we were adopting and already had in our care. He was a nice guy, just did not seem to care about our case enough to ever work on it.

Incredible! Attorney Hopkins and his briefcase full of miracles won this father custody of his daughters. If you need hand-holding, a phone friend, or a substitute emotional support animal, then Attorney Hopkins isn't for you. However, if you need justice, or representation with strong moral fiber, quite likely the strongest legal mind out of the dozens of attorney's I've met in Southern Illinois, and a staggering work ethic, then this is undoubtedly the attorney for you. His staff is equally efficient. Results are all that matters, and he achieves them with an invigorating degree of professionalism. What's more, I've come to think of him as a family friend, a confidant, a trusted adviser, and a refreshingly free thinking island of common sense. The other reviews that disagree are quite likely the emo children who's parents never spanked them or loved them enough. This attorney caters to adults. Such a great feeling, waking up and driving my boys to school. Mr. Hopkins has represented me in a 2009 felony DUI and a 2019 divorce. Although these cases are different, Aaron's approach was the same. Calm, cool, and collected. In both cases, he understood the position I was in and protected me from getting railroaded. I mean, I could have gone to prison in 2009 and lost my license for life. In the 2019 divorce, I could have lost my boys. The divorce was nasty and had my stomach in knots. I could have probably walked away with more from my divorce had I represented myself. I told him I only wanted to pay 2500.00 and not lose everything I own......... Instead I owe him 1700. more and lost everything I owned. Charged me for times in court that he was not with me but dealing with multible cases. I hired Aaron for a divorce/family law case. Although my case was pretty cut/dry and very easy, he still did a fantastic job in getting things done in a timely manner. The staff was very quick to answer any questions I had and deal with concerns. Thank you for such an enjoyable experience considering my very difficult personal situation. I have used Aaron twice, both in sensitive and emotional family law cases. He is compassionate and does everything in his client's best interest. Both times, I was extremely anxious about my case, as it involved my child, but Aaron did his best to calm my fears. No, he didn't answer every text right away, but I would always get a response. I did have to learn to trust his legal process. Many times, I wanted him to do certain things or point out issues with my ex but I trusted him and he came through both times. Aaron is aggressive in court and knows the law. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking professional legal counsel.

Horrible attorney, a terrible waste of time and money. Refuses to call back when trying to get updates from him. I usually had to just show up unannounced at his office in order to get any information from him at all. Talks a good talk but doesn't come through on his promises.Very good at working at a snail's pace to rack up more charges and fees for himself. Might be better at high priced cases that make him bundles of cash, but for simpler reasons for needing at attorney, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
