Cory is THE gold standard in St. Clair county attorneys, he is extremely well versed and capable in all areas of law (not just criminal defense, but also civil or family matters). The only question a person needing a lawyer should consider with Cory Easton is whether their matter requires such high capability and skill. (In my opinion, his skill and service would be much more than what is required of a seat belt ticket, for example) However, Cory does NOT know shoddy or half-hearted work, so if you hire him regardless of the issue, he puts the same effort and commitment to excellence forth in all matters. Cory is a very down to earth and caring guy. He makes himself very available to people, whether meeting in person, talking on the phone, or even texting by cell phone. His friendly and agreeable demeanor outside of the court room is in no way an indication of his extremely professional and commanding presence inside the court. When in court, Cory's level of knowledge and professionalism are readily obvious to anyone in his presence (including judges, other attorneys, DAs, ASAs, etc.) He is ALWAYS prepared and informed on the matters at hand, no fumbling with notes or having to tell someone that a given document is back at the office or in another file(I have witnessed this from OTHER attorneys, NEVER Cory). In 2005 when my son was born his mother got the idea to seek full custody. At first i was horrified at the thought of going through the court system fighting for my rights as a father. I think most will agree that mothers normally win this fight. At the time Mr Easton assured me i would get my fair day in court. I can not express enough the knowledge and professionalism he displayed while handling my case. Lots of complicated issues came up in which he was always prepared for. In the end i walked away with an iron tight court order assuring me 50% custody. Fast forward to 2013 , my sons mother is again attempting to take me back to court for custody. Of course i wanted the man who represented me so well in the first case, even though almost 8 years had past he was still familiar with the details of the original case and i have retained his services once again! As a single father i am always worried the mother will gain unfair advantage in the legal system based on her sex . Only this time i'm not so worried knowing that Mr. Easton did such a wonderful job the first time , our court order is solid and i have never broke from it so i have little anxiety and great confidence in my attorney. I normally wouldn't go out of my way to write up a review on anyone or anything, but when i read this previous review from an account that was made for the sole purpose to make Mr Easton lok bad,i had to share my story.
